HARRISON, Ark. – New stoplights are making their official appearance to downtown Harrison.
The new stoplight signals feature cameras, but are not used for recording. Officials say the cameras are sensors to detect traffic.
The sensor detects traffic waiting to make a left turn, which shows a solid green arrow for a protected turn. After traffic has made that left turn, the sensor turns the green arrow to amber. The flashing amber turn signal simply notifies traffic to take caution before making a left turn.
The new signals are located at the intersection of Main Street and Stephenson Avenue, and at Main and Central Avenue.
