The Forsyth Police Department is entering into a mutual aid agreement with the Merriam Woods Police Department. The agreement is identical to Forsyth’s agreement with the Taney County Sheriff’s Office.

Police Chief Jack Gates commented at this week’s board of aldermen meeting…

The Forsyth Fire Department is entering into a mutual aid agreement with Western Taney County Fire Protection District, similar to its agreement with Central Taney County.

Also this week, the fire department named Community Presbyterian Church Pastor Dennis Winzenried as its new fire chaplain.

And four people were appointed to the city’s Emergency Preparedness Organization, including Travis McConnell, Billy Rader, Bill Winkert and Dennis Wagner.

Would this agreement replace an existing police force that served Merriam Woods? I also wonder about the increased response times...
