Nine Taney County property owners approved for FEMA assistance following massive flooding in 2011 will have to wait until next year before they can rebuild their homes.

Only 9 properties incurred “substantial damage” in the 2011 floods, according to FEMA, while 29 others sustained “non-substantial damage.”
Local officials began working with FEMA in the so-called flood buyout program back in June of 2011.
