Nixa Police Chief James Bacon is retiring from law enforcement after 29 years in the profession. Bacon’s last day on the job is November 15th. After that, he plans to move to Texas where he will enter the private sector.

Bacon became police chief in Nixa in October of 2006. He formerly served as chief in Russellville, Arkansas, and also had worked in White Hall and Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

Bacon is proud to say that his last position in law enforcement was to serve as Nixa’s Chief. He says the police department has seen great accomplishments and advancements during his tenure, and he’s confident the department will continue to excel after he leaves.
