A year of work by politicians and others results in the naming of a bridge to honor those who have fallen in service to their country.
Saturday marked the dedication of the bridge that carried Highway 65 across Lake Springfield as the Missouri Fallen Soldiers Memorial Bridge.
The naming of the bridge came largely through the efforts of Jason Lannan, 17th District Commander of the American Legion. Among those on hand for the ceremony Saturday were State Senator’s Jay Wasson and Bob Dixon, along with Brig. General J. Marty Robinson of the Missouri National Guard.
