Branson will purchase two pickups for the Public Works Department to replace two vehicles with high mileage.

A four-wheel drive extended cab pickup, equipped with yellow flashing emergency lights and a backup sensor, will be purchased from Friendly Ford for $21,443.  The pickup will replace a 1999 Chevy S-10 with over 100,000 miles that was scheduled for replacement in 2008.

A four-wheel drive half-ton pickup with a lift gate will be purchased from Shawnee Mission Ford in the amount of $27,951.  The vehicle is to replace a 2003 Dodge Dakoka with 200,000 miles that was scheduled for replacement in 2012.

Aldermen approved the purchases on Tuesday.  Funds for both vehicles have been budgeted in the utilities 2013 operation capital budget.
