Taney County Jailers Charged with Sexual Misconduct

Two jailers have been fired and charged after allegedly having inappropriate sexual contact with inmates at the Taney County Jail.

Sheriff Jimmie Russell reports he arrested jailers Chad Brewer and Corey Ridings a week ago. Ridings is charged with four counts and Brewer one count of having sexual contact with an inmate.

Sheriff Russell says the alleged sexual contact was not forced and involved the same inmate on separate occasions.

Both men were fired when they were arrested and released on bond last Friday.

About time the sheriff is making deputies responsible for their actions. They think they can get away with anything.

These two people are not Taney County Sheriff Deputies. They are CO's there is quite a difference.

I truely believe that if they did it, then they get what they get just like anyone else, these guys werent deputies, and neither were they jailers. They were Corrections officers. the days of being called a "jailer" went by the wayside with the Andy Griffith show. Welcome to the 21st century people and use the proper terms.

FYI all this was not done by sheriff deputies. Jailers/correctional officers have different jobs. Of course there's a higher standard all departments are excepted to follow. Remember these are humans too, they make mistakes just like you and me. it was still wrong regardless.

They are not DEPUTIES...they WERE jailers. There is a difference

these situations arise out of a lack of leadership. We have a one party system in Taney County, and that leads to these abuses. When the department allows senior deputies to engage in "alternate" sexual life styles then you reap what you sow. These kids cant respect a corrupt system that we have allowed to infect Taney county. it is time for a change. We need a sheriff with the guts to clean house of racists, whoremongers, and perverts. We pay for this and deserve more.

It appears one of the cases has been plead. No jail, and community service. Judge Orr would not do this for any other citizen. They have waited long enough to sweep this little fiasco under the rug. It shows that the Sheriff hires the wrong guys, fails to train and supervise them. This is his job. This is still happening today, the only reason they did anything this time is that it went public.
