A truck driver from Colorado is sentenced to 10 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections for assaulting a law enforcement officer in connection with a pursuit last October.
Twenty-year-old Jesse De Jongh led Christian County sheriff’s deputies south on U-S 65 following the alleged theft of 700 dollars worth of fuel from a gas station along I-44. The chase ended near Busiek State Park north of Branson.
De Jongh reportedly tried to hit a deputy with his truck during the pursuit. He was charged with three counts of second-degree assault and resisting arrest.
